🔍 Hypothetical: Could Republicans Fire the Parliamentarian?

What would happen if the Parliamentarian again blocks pro-2A amendments—such as Rep. Clyde’s #437, which would fully repeal NFA tax and registration for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs.

✅ The Parliamentarian is not a constitutional office.
✅ The Majority Leader (Sen. Thune) or the Senate President (Vice President Vance) could fire the Parliamentarian at any time.
✅ If the position is left vacant, the Presiding Officer (Vice President Vance) would issue rulings on points of order.
✅ Those rulings could be appealed, but a simple majority could uphold them—effectively bypassing the Parliamentarian entirely.

In other words:
Nothing in Senate rules prevents them from removing the Parliamentarian and proceeding without replacing the office before final passage.

This maneuver—rare, but not unprecedented—would sidestep procedural blocks and allow the Senate to approve pro-gun amendments without risking another Byrd Rule objection.
