Here We Go Again

Two bills have been introduced in the House and Senate that appear to be attempts to ban assault weapons. HR3115 and S1531 have both been introduced in the House and Senate accordingly. The House bill currently has 117 Sponsors – all Democrats, while the Senate version has 41 sponsors, 40 of which are Democrats and 1 Independent (Bernie Sanders, who always goes along with the Democrats).

The text of the bills is not yet available, but based on the title, you can tell that the Democrats are pushing to infringe on the one right that explicitly says, “shall not be infringed” and they are doing it with impunity.

The chance of this bill passing under the current makeup of the House and Senate is pretty much non existent, but you should reach out to your congressional and senate representatives to make sure they know your feelings on this bill. While you are at it, remind them what “Shall not be infringed” means.

I am sure the Democrats are pushing this mostly so they can say, “we tried, but those rascally republicans won’t go along with us.” They claim that these bans are for safety, but the reality, gun control is only half of the truth and it is not about the guns. This from the party that is aligning themselves with activist judges that seek to punish the law abiding citizens while letting real criminals go free.

Locking up the criminals instead of the products on our shelves would be a great start. If they put half as much effort into ending gang violence as they do into restricting our rights under the second amendment, we wouldn’t need to ban any weapons at all.
