California is recognized as one of the states with the Strictest gun laws, yet it leads the nation in the number of mass shootings. Texas, which has has some of the most lax laws has about 75% of California’s population, but less than half as many mass shootings.

In fact, out of the Top 13 states with the most mass shootings (I was going to list top 10, but since 10-13 were all tied with the same number of mass shootings I decided to include all of them), only 5 (less than half) of them have a grade of A or A-. If stricter gun laws actually prevented mass shootings then every single state with the most mass shootings should have a grade of A or A-. But when you look at the 12 states that have never had a mass shooting 9 of the 12 have a grade of F.

What is of course interesting to note is that the states with the most mass shootings also have the highest populations, yet the states that have zero mass shootings are the lowest population states. Perhaps instead of gun control we should call for population control. That was sarcastic in case you couldn’t tell..
